What is County of Family Unity ?

(formerly known as County of Refuge)

Goal of the Campaign:
To establish a County of Family Unity in Sonoma County which can stop law enforcement from racial profiling. In order to keep families united and to prevent the deportation of our youth by Immigration and Customs Enforcement [I.C.E.]

Specific Demands:

• That the Sheriff’s deputies and “MAGNET” or “Gang Enforcement” officers stop their collaboration with I.C.E. agents.
  
• That other employees (Probation, other departments) of the County stop collaborating with I.C.E.
• That the County use its resources on non-punitive programs to prevent participation in gangs and to rehabilitate youths in gangs, instead of arresting, jailing and deporting our youths.
